The MB-550-RC Double Coil Spring Cast Offset Jaws Trap is designed for use in taking coyote, bobcat, fox and raccoon. This trap has an outside jaw spread of 5 1/2" and an inside jaw spread of 4 3/4". The cast jaw face is 3/8" thick and the offset is 3/16". This trap has a Paws-I-Trip pan system and a night latched dog. Pan tension out of the box (un-waxed) runs an average of 2.1 pounds. This trap is fast and excellent results were obtained using the double coil model during an extensive 3 year testing period on coyote, bobcat, red fox, grey fox and raccoon. This trap is an excellent live market trap as well as the trap to use on a mixed species line. It is small enough for fox and tough enough for the nastiest coyote. Note: If you are not planning on 4-coiling your MB-550-RC's it is strongly recommended that you cut the excess spring pins off leaving 1/2" protruding from the frame.
